Abu Dhabi begins enforcing new ‘move car or pay Dh200’ fine

The Traffic and Patrols Directorate at Abu Dhabi Police announced that as of Monday, September 15, drivers will be fined Dh200 each, should they fail to remove their vehicles from the road in case of minor accidents.

This procedure embodies the decision issued by the Ministry of Interior upon recommendation from the Federal Traffic Council.

The directorate urged motorists who get involved in minor traffic accidents, or those whose vehicles sustain mechanical malfunctions or tyre bursts, to remove their vehicles from the road and park them in the nearest safe location. This measure aims to maintain all road users? safety, ensure a smooth flow of traffic, and to protect parties involved in the accident from sudden accidents, or from being fined for obstructing traffic.
