DEWA encourages less use of home appliances during peak hours

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, DEWA, has launched its annual Peak Load Campaign, to encourage customers to reduce electricity and water consumption during peak hours, 12 – 6 p.m., from June to August.

The campaign urges consumers to switch off non-essential electrical appliances and rationalise use of electricity during that period, demonstrating DEWA’s commitment to sustainable development.

“In line with our strategy to strengthen sustainable development through the sensible use of energy, DEWA has launched several awareness campaigns and initiatives to preserve natural resources for generations to come under Dubai Integrated Energy Strategy 2030,” said Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of DEWA.

The Peak Load Campaign contributes to raising awareness among DEWA s customers of the importance of avoiding the use of equipment and electrical appliances at peak times. “We urge customers to switch off electric irons, washing and dryer machines, dishwashers, water heaters, and electric ovens during peak hours,”.
