Saif bin Zayed briefed on plans to develop strategy to combat drugs

.H. Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior was briefed yesterday on plans to develop and update the ministry’s strategy to combat drugs according to the latest international practices in this field.

Sheikh Saif during a meeting held at the Abu Dhabi Police Headquarters, approved a number of strategic initiatives in the field of combating drugs, which will have an impact on efforts to address this scourge in accordance with the best practices and methodologies including those related to creating new organisational units and the provision of specialized staff and others associated with the provision of programmes and advanced electronic systems.

The meeting discussed efforts to strengthen strategic partnerships with individuals and community institutions to invest in the prevention of the risk of addiction and ways to confront the scourge of drugs to protect society from its devastating effects.
