38 workers injured in Sharjah bus crash

A bus carrying 38 workers flipped over after it was hit from behind by a lorry on Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road in Sharjah.

All of the Indian workers on the bus were hurt in the accident on Tuesday morning.

Two workers were seriously hurt, 28 suffered minor injuries, and eight had moderate injuries.

Police said the driver of the lorry, also Indian, was not paying attention to the road when he hit the rear of bus, driven by a Pakistani man.

?The truck driver?s lack of focus led to the accident, in which the bus flipped. All 38 people on the bus were transferred to hospital.?

?Motorists must always stay focused on the road and take precautions by wearing their seatbelts and abiding by speed limits,? said Traffic Police. ?They should never be distracted when they are on the road, for their safety and the safety of others.?
