Ten implicated in theft of goods worth Dh1 million in Dubai

Eight men were arrested by Dubai Police for stealing electronic goods worth Dh1 million from a warehouse in Jebel Ali Industrial area at the end of September.

Major General Khalil Ebrahim Al Mansouri, Assistant to the Dubai Police Chief for Criminal Investigation Affairs, revealed yesterday that two other men have international arrest warrants against them in connection with the same crime.

He said that police received a report last month from a warehouse owner about his warehouse being robbed.

He explained that preliminary investigations showed that the warehouse was not properly secured and only had a simple lock that was easily broken by the thieves, without drawing any attention to themselves.

Dubai Police urge business owners to ensure there is adequate security measures available in their business premises, such as security guards and CCTV cameras, to protect their goods that could be worth millions.
