A gang of seven Asian men have been arrested for allegedly breaking into a woman?s house in the western region, tying her up, threatening her and stealing cash, gold jewellery and mobile phones among other items.
The suspects were wearing face masks when they were nabbed in a white Toyota, according to Colonel Ojeil Ali Abdullah Al Junaibi, Director of the Western Region Police Directorate.
Five men entered the house by force, claimed the woman who informed police that the gang threatened her they would not return the stolen goods unless she provided them with Dh20,000 within a period of 15 days. And that they would communicate via phone.
The gang was nabbed in a white Toyota Innova, wearing masks, he added. Apart from the stolen items, knives of different sizes, a large bat, two pieces of iron rods, black plastic chains, cash in different currencies, five iPhones, four BlackBerry phones, three Samsung Galaxy phones, one iPad Mini, a wireless device, a Nokia phone, watches, rings, and necklaces of silver and gold were also confiscated from the gang, the officer explained.
