Dubai Police seize Dh35m in stolen jewellery

An Emirati man was arrested for buying jewellery worth Dh35million using cheques that bounced, Dubai Police revealed.

Major General Khamis Mattar Al Mazeina, Dubai Police Chief, said the man was arrested in cooperation with the Omani authorities in Oman, where he went to sell the jewellery.

He added that it is noteworthy that the operation took place before any of the victims reported the crime. The operation was based on confidential information received by Dubai Police?s Criminal Investigation Department.

The Emirati man, M.S.A, used his previous employment with a well-known figure in the UAE to trick the jewellers.
